Senior Secondary

The senior section of our school consists of students in Year 10 to Year 12.
 
Students are provided with comprehensive learning materials supported by a range of multi-media and audio resources as well as books and specific learning resources, e.g. science kits.
 
Course available in this sector of our school include:

Year 10

Students in Year 10 are in thr transition phase of moving into senior courses. The subjects in this year level remain mandatory.

  • Japanese
  • Certificate II in Workplace Practices
  • Certificate II in Agriculture

It is an expectation that all students will have access to a computer, printer and the internet.

Year 11 - 12 

Students in Year 11 and Year 12 are able to select from a range of subjects to prepare them for active and productive futures. As well as a wide offering of VET courses, students can also select from a number of Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) approved subjects, which prepare students for university entry.

  • Pre-Vocational Mathematics

  • Social and Community Studies
  • Short Course in Numeracy
  • Short Course in Literacy
Assessment is based on returned work, assignments, presentations, and examinations. Reports are provided at the end of each Semester. Students can complete Year 11 and 12 through Distance Education and be OP eligible.
 
At the end of Year 12, if the student has completed the course requirements, the school will issue an exit statement, and students will be issued with a senior certificate by the QCAA. QCAA will also issue students who have sat the QCS test with their test results and their OP (if eligible).

  • Certificate I in Business
  • Cerrtificate II in Business
  • Certificate III in Business
  • Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology
  • Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology
  • Certificate II in Agriculture
  • Certificate II in Visual Art
  • Certificate III in Education Support
  •  

VET certificates are also issued at the end of Year 12 or on completion of the certificate.
 

It is an expectation that all students will have access to a computer, printer and the internet. 

If students are interested in subjects for Year 11 and 12 that are not listed above, it may be possible to study the subject through one of our partner schools.
